ZAZZ is the youth division of Philly Dance Fitness, an award-winning independent studio established in 2010. Philly Dance Fitness had been offering sporadic series for toddlers and kids for years, and then launched a full-blown afterschool program in 2021, followed by a summer day camp. As those programs have evolved and expanded, it seemed natural to create a separate brand to encompass all of our youth offerings.
1. A quantifiable amount of something special
2. Confidence, energy and dazzling style that you develop on stage
So what exactly does “Zazz” mean?
Pizazz! Dazzle! A combination of both! You know that feeling when your heart is racing and you just let it all out on stage? That’s ZAZZ. Plus, this name was a hit with our unofficial kid focus groups!
The ZAZZ mission: We believe that all children should have an opportunity to express themselves through the arts. Our dance, drama and musical theater programs are geared toward having fun and building confidence through self-expression.
1923 Chestnut St 2nd Floor
Philadelphia, PA 19103
Directions: Located near Rittenhouse Square, about a half a block in from the corner of 19th and Chestnut Streets. Head up the stairs, then through the red doorway at the back of the second floor landing. Leave your bags in the front room or in a locker by the bathrooms. Then follow the music to find us either in the large studio on the second floor, or down the stairs to the lower-level studios. Easily accessible from any bus that goes down Chestnut Street, as well as numerous other bus and subway lines.
Parking: Paid street parking is available throughout the area but can be difficult to find depending on the time of day. We strongly recommend biking, walking or taking public transportation to avoid the hassle of parking in the heart of Center City.

This is our biggest and busiest studio, with plenty of room to move around, adjustable lighting (even party lights!), full-length mirrors and Bluetooth speakers. Larger dance and musical theater classes are generally held here.

A square-shaped studio at the bottom of the stairs is used for smaller classes and drama rehearsals. A larger lower rear studio with full-length mirrors holds dance, drama and piano classes. An additional water fountain is also located downstairs.

The front lobby becomes a hub of activity during afterschool hours. When kids aren’t in class, they gather here to do homework, read, play games or work on art projects. There’s also a mini fridge and microwave for summer camp lunches.
